Upward Basketball
Get ready for another fantastic season of Upward Basketball at Poplar Springs! We are thrilled to offer basketball to boys in Kindergarten through 8th grade and girls Kindergarten through 10th grade. This year we are very excited to offer cheerleading for girls in Kindergarten through 8th grade! Our goal is to offer a program to the community that focuses on sharing and creating gospel opportunities while teaching the game of basketball.
Online registration for Upward Basketball opens Tuesday, September 1st.
Kindergarten – 4th grade leagues will be COED, 5th grade and up will have a boys league and girls league.

Registration fee includes t-shirt, jersey and basketball.
Cheerleading Early Registration Fee: $80

Registration fee includes uniform, pom poms and basketball.
Teams
Upward basketball teams are formed based on evaluations that take place on November 8th OR 15th. Each player will complete drills with and without the basketball – dribbling, shooting and shuffling. New this year: We will have a scrimmage as part of the evaluation to get a better look at each player. The scores given will help form competitive teams. All players MUST perform an evaluation in order to be placed on a team. Kindergarten - 4th grade teams will be coed, 5th - 8th grade will have boys teams and girls teams. Girls teams will go through 10th grade.
Games
Games begin on January 2, 2026 and go for 8 consecutive Saturdays. A game schedule is provided at least 2 weeks in advance of the first game. Games last approximately one hour. Our Concession Stand will be open to benefit our Mission Trip to Standing Rock Indian Reservation in Little Eagle, SD.

Volunteers
We always need coaches!! If you have any basketball knowledge, OR are just energetic and fun, we can pair you with an experienced co-coach. We will also need referees! We will meet for training for both coaches and referees.
